BIG SEVENTIES BUSH EST.2005

After many years of playing the Adelaide scene we have many live recordings over the years & have finally gone into the studio. With having complete control over our sound, we have recorded some tracks that could only be heard by seeing a live show. This is a rare event indeed...BSB CD's are only ever done short run & have matured since 2005. You want FUNKY! we got it...Enjoy. 2018 EP RELEASE.

Funk psychedelia with lounge reggae overtones . Cocktails at 5 with a disco twist, break'n on down with Grindhouse grooves... music to dance to standing up and lying down...The pleasure cruise for the ultimate leisure hunters!!!

Turn on your lava lamps, lights some Jos sticks & get down on your shagpile rug & jump in your favourite beanbag... BSB takes it's flavours from the Grindhouse movie soundtracks of the early 70's in the B grade cinema sound tracks...

Consisting of 5 members from the inner & outer metropolitan area of Adelaide South Australia. This band is driven by retro & vintage sounds & a instrumental musical genre not often played in this day & age to live audiences which expect a traditional vocalist. The music does the talking & the grooves do the walking.

Syncopated complimentary guitar rhythms, percussive dynamics & a busy Bass plus a keys soaking up all the gravy. The music takes on a life of It's own & wouldn't be possible without sum of the parts making the whole.

Dedicated to the cause. BSB delivers a unique funk sound that is hard to compare with the some of the traditional standards we know today & has never tried to be. The music evolved from having an ear for that retro vinyl sound & what you want to hear at a house party or that perfect afternoon delight.

With song titles like - WHO'S YOUR DADDY - LEISURE HUNTER - LICK CARPET - LASSE BRAUN & MONEY SHOT. You would expect a bang for your buck! An elusive bunch of anti heroes that get the funk on & leave you wanting more. The upcoming CD single will reveal a taste of things to come for the album in the future>>>

FIRST, A VERY BREIF BUSHY HISTORY:

Nominated for the last 3 years in a row for the SA Music Awards 2017 - 2018 - 2019. Big Seventies Bush have finally come to the fore & are one of the most under the radar funk outfits in Adelaide.

After over 10 years of playing all over Adelaide from the Gov's main stage to a floating stage on the River Murray (Caudo Vineyard), the Semaphore Palais Ball room, M.V. Port Princess river cruisers, Adelaide Fringe, TRIBE FM live to air, Dave D's Tattoo & bike show & Dr Sketchy's anti art school - Adelaide, plus dozens of venues, art spaces, pubs, clubs, charity events, variety shows, backs of trucks & private functions from North to South. Playing with over 100 bands throughout our career & have shared the bill with the likes of Lucky Seven, Almost Newman & Chris Finnen, just to name drop a few.

THAT SLOW FUNKY BURN:

With all these years of experience under our belts Big Seventies Bush have finally gone into a professional studio & recorded our debut album!. Playing select tracks from 2005 - 2018. Fiercely independent & original. Rarely showing our hand, we are the true masters of our destiny. Cant wait to put it out there in the world & get a jump on our back catalogue of new grooves!

LIVE SHOWS:

BSB has a little something for everybody when it comes to our music at live shows with a great mix of styles. Periodically playing with guest vocalists, harmonica, saxophonists & comedic stage performances over the years. Every show is different & unique but always the core driven funk method from the 6 piece band which stands up musically on it's own.

WHAT HAPPENED IN THE STUDIO:

9 tracks from 12 hours straight in the studio. Including bump in bump out, didn't get home till 4AM. All played live, all done in complete takes, so only the best made the cut. Staying true to the music & paying homage to the recording style of the day. A mammoth effort by all involved & a new respect for the true greats.
